Evaluation

My media product uses conventions as it is has strap lines and a kicker, also it has a mast head, which are all conventional of a magazine. Also it has a main image which appeals to the audience of the magazine.
The media institution, which would distribute my magazine, would be the sports industry as my magazine is aimed at basketballers and therefore would allow easy sales for the sports industry. The audience for my magazine is pupils aged 15- 18+. I have aimed the magazine at them by using a pupil playing basketball, on the front cover, and strap lines giving tips and scholarships competitions which would attract young players interested in developing their skills and interested in taking their sport to the next level.

I have learnt that manipulating an image is not straight forward, as it seems, as you have to make it blend in with your strap lines and portray the same message. For example, using an image of a pupil playing a sport but used fancy curvy writing would clash, as it would appeal to the audience. Instead you should use bold writing or something. Therefore planning is essential.
